Did you know that students can lose up to two months of reading skills over the summer? This decline, often called the "summer slide," happens when young minds take a total break from books. The good news is that keeping those skills sharp is easy and fun! Reading just a few books over the break helps students retain what they learned, boosts their vocabulary, and ensures they hit the ground running in September. Check out our 2026 Summer Reading Initiative to explore exciting books to keep students learning all summer long!

As a bilingual magnet school, Alexander D. Sullivan School offers ESL classes and bilingual education to English language learners.

Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) both during school hours and as part of the after school program.
